Attack Style Guard Passing Options
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.Месяц назад
Attack Style Passing typically refers to threatening a submission in order to pass the guard. Sometimes this is higher risk than other times, but the effectiveness of this idea comes from the necessary response of the guard player creating space or opportunity in their reaction, allowing you to pass, potentially with a submission already working. Here are some of my favorite examples. 0:00 - 0:...

Lots of Submissions from Float Pins - Uki Gatame 浮固
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
Floating Pins, or Uki Gatame, are a category of pinning in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu that are versatile and powerful. This is due to the combination of stability and mobility they offer the top player. Knee on belly is probably the most famous example of this style of position, but other variations exist and are also very useful for eliciting submission opportunities. In this video, I cover examples i...

Is there a reason why you walk to the side before gator rolling? I haven’t seen that before
Cutting that angle adds pressure to the choke initially and makes the roll harder to prevent because the angle is sharper.
@@KnightJiuJitsu Does it contribute to the choking arm ending up in the ideal strangle position? After the roll, your arm is perfectly placed so that the forearm is choking as opposed to the bicep. I have trouble with that sometimes
@sethgershfeld5995 I think the short answer is “yes.” I started doing it this way when I saw Matt Hughes set it up vs Ricardo Almeida years ago. It’s a Dave Schultz variation, and can get the choke before you even have to roll.
@@KnightJiuJitsu I’ll try it out. Thanks!
Great footage and instruction. Love it. Thanks 🥰
What if his both hands are touching the matt?
I would probably go for something different.
Darce breadcutter
I think its hard, the opponent will go to north south so fast and you wont get his arm or he turn and turn and avoid the pressure.
Thanks, was just thinking what the difference is
Why not keep the hand grabbing the foot when closing the triangle? This will make it tighter since his head + his arm + your hand is in the “triangle hole” when closing the sub
I’ve found that, for myself, keeping the grip on the leg gets in my own way.
Great work! 🙏🏼
Oh my GAWD
Something I’ve been taught with the hip bump: instead of reaching across and grabbing your opponent’s arm with the free hand, you can (if you’re competing or practicing with a knowing participant) use your bicep to club them and further shift their center of gravity to the side you’re sweeping toward
Damn, I just hit this today at rolling. As a white belt, I'm going to spam this move till the end of times
What’s a brabo?
A brabo is a variation of the Darce using gi grips
This feels like knee on belly but for the back lmao
Makes moves look easy but they are not. Lots of practice.
"it was more of a crank" "I know"
Nice! I would just finish with the choke when you grabbed your leg or hammer fisted until he went out. I'm a striker by trade. MOO YEA DO
Are you going to post the ocean city seminar on here?! You showed so much stuff and id love to review it. Thanks so much!
Yep! I’ll have it ready to post this week sometime. I’ll be sure to send the link to Kevin and others. Feel free to share it, just please don’t post it publicly because I also put my seminars on my Patreon privately.
@@KnightJiuJitsu I was on vacation and lucky enough to catch the seminar, so I'm not in contact with those guys. I can be in touch next week. Maybe you could email the link to me? Thanks again!
@travisandsamantha - absolutely. Send me a DM on Facebook or Instagram reminding me if possible.
@@KnightJiuJitsu I don't have any social media. I can email you tho.
@@travisandsamantha - ok, that works too 👍
Now that's some side control action😎🤙thanks coach!
YOU'RE A GREAT INSTRUCTOR, I LEARNED SO WELL, THAT I TRIED IT ON MY GRANNY AND NOW SHE'S IN THE ER WITH DOUBLE KNEE SURGERY
She should’ve tapped sooner.
The "inverted ghost paper cutter" 😂
Ghost choke?
looks like a gimmick rather than higher % holds.
NICE
Sleeve choke
Sean Mcvay I had no idea you did ju jitzu
I believe this is the foot sweep MVP did against Kevin Holland in their fight several times.
This is a very good video. Thank-you and please keep them coming. This seems very practical and will try it on the matts this week.
Thank you for these vids.
Please....be advised,😮 there is a massive arachnid on your wall. Surely it has bad intentions.
Thank you. We got the exterminator to come out and take care of this problem. Currently insect-free.
Wow....thats actually an inverted Kata-ha-jime.......single wing choke
That is exactly what it is when you look at it.
Love this Move coach. Can you do this without gi?
Probably not bro, it looks like you need that grip on the lapel for it to work. But we can try!!!
Not really, you really need the collar to make it effective. You can do a no gi variation by anchoring your hand on their trap, but it’s not going to be nearly as strong or stable.
Thank you
Deadly bro
this is gonna work for me 10000% thank you! not kidding, iam a disabled vet, its very hard for me to escape from bottom, (lower back injury) thank you!
Awesome! Let me know how it works for you.
@@KnightJiuJitsu will do!
Great!!!!
BJJ is definitely for smart, crafty, creative people! Wow.
Can't get no Americana nowadays, great follow up!
Yeah, you can do that move a couple different ways. You can do it when you’re in top so I control just go to that choke on the side then go round and catch it. You can catch it on the bottom or on the top and over under choke.
One time Taichi Hayashi did this in a judo tournament and put the opponent pinning him to sleep, but Taichi could not get the passed out judoka off him in time and lost by being pinned.
Ghost Choke
❤
Dayum, niice..
Looks like a paper cutter from bottom?
im saving this to use against the most unsuspecting training partner. i will call it the "oh no i fooled you choke"
“Oh no my back is exposed” 🥺
Yo you can see on his face that he felt the second one 😅
I dunno what it’s called but it’s nasty. Ghost escape choke maybe, lol
Amazing and great content. Thank you for sharing this with us osss
thanks man yiu explained that well
my coach always tells us to always grab your shin with one hand and the head with the other before cutting the angle
Wtf 🤯
